Meet the Musicians

James starting playing double bass in 1975.

He began playing with WSO in 1985 occasionally them full time from 2000 onwards

Favourite WSO performance was Holst's Planets but he has enjoyed many more concerts

Would like to play Brahms 2nd piano concerto (on the bass not the piano!)

Alice started playing violin at the age of 9 then moved on to viola when she was 15 

She  joined the WSO in 2019 

She really enjoyed playing Vaughan William's Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis

She realises the WSO have already played Holst's Planets Suite a few years ago but this a piece she would love to perform

Gill started playing cello at the age of 9. She first played with the WSO in 2011 joining full time in 2014. Like Alice she really enjoyed playing Vaughan William's Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. Gill would love to play Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet and Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique.

Gill is currently the Orchestral Manager of the WSO.
